There are a few other points I would like to make really quickly before we get to the main discussions!

· The server has a command that allows you to type a message to current staff online for help. This is to prevent question spamming in the general chat. If you have a question, please use /helpop . The staff will get an eye catching message so we can try to get to helping you ASAP without disturbing other players.

· PLEASE try to vote everyday, it helps get our server on the top server lists on various websites which will help us get more players!

Since the topic of a looming map reset has been a huge topic lately, lets start there.

Currently I, with the help of the Mods, am working on designs for a new map that will be coming in the near-ish future. If I had to give a good guess as to when this new map will come to be I would have to say definitely after 1.6 update, possibly waiting until 2.0. I will have more on this as we get closer to 2.0.

· The current map WILL NOT be deleted.

· Your inventory and money WILL NOT be deleted.

· All new players will be encouraged to play on the new map.

· All new OFFICIAL towns will be required to be built on the new map.

· Currently players will be encouraged to begin to move to the new map.

· ALL server builds minus old map spawn will be moved to the new map.

If there are any more questions about the reset, comment below I will answer ASAP.

Going along with the topic of a map reset. We will be resetting the nether!

·On MAY 15th I will do the reset of the nether.. If you have an valuables or anything else you would like to retrieve from the nether please do so. All items, builds, ect will be gone MAY 15th!

Up next, some players brought up changing the site background, so here is the plan.

· I will sticky a thread in the Media Forums[ LINK ] where you can post your submissions. After two weeks I will close the thread and open a new one where we can vote on the new background. I will include the current background in the voting for those who wish to keep it.

If there are any questions about how the backgound changing will work, comment below and I will answer ASAP.

There have been some questions on what we look at when we review staff applications. This is my PERSONAL thoughts.

· Age is definitely a factor, but I will look past this depending on how you act in game.

· Daily activity is a big one, I ALWAYS check playtime values when a staff application is submitted. If you player 5 hours a week it is a waste to make you a part of staff since you will bring little to nothing to the aid of the server.

· Did you mark YES or NO for being active on our Mumble server. If you mark yes, excuse my language, but I INSTANTLY mark you a fucking lair. I NEVER see anyone on the mumble server. Don't try to help your self by answering yes, you are lying and it is only hurting you.

· Recommendation: If the recommendation is not from a staff member it is useless except in rare cases. Getting recommendations will definitely help you get a foot in.

· 400 word essay. THAT MEANS 400!! This is a big one for me. If you can't write 400 words to be on staff then I can only expect for you to half-ass you position on staff as well.

· Also on the essay, I grammatically examine essay and take into account how to communicate on the server. If you cannot spell, don't use decent grammar, or hold a conversation then I'd rather not have you representing the server to new members.

This is MY opinions, but alas I am only ONE man!

As of today, Myriadcraft is now running 1.5! Unfortunately the NPC plugin we have is disabled for now, but that is the only issue. The nether will be reset quite soon, regenerated with a new seed.

The event world project has been taken up again. Since the release of the PvP world, this project has sadly been postponed again and again as a number of staff went on a break from minecraft. We are now taking it up again, and working to get it open to the public ASAP!

We currently also have plans on advertizing for myriadcraft; we are running a vote to decide who would best voice videos on youtube, so please vote here! Remember to also post who you vote for, as this will be used in the final vote count.

New Trade Town!

The new trade town is up and running. To get there, simply type /warp trade. If you are looking to purchase a plot, check how much it is retailing for, by checking the sign on the plot, and pay a Mod or an Admin. If you already own a trade Town Plot in the old Trade Town then we will happily reimburse you the cost of the plot you previously brought.

Happy Birthday MyriadCraft - Two Years Old!

Today is MyriadCraft's Birthday, and we have officially turned two years old! MyriadCraft was founded two years ago on the same day, January 25, 2011, by me, and a few friends. We started on a $30 a month VPS and encountered many hardships. However the community was able to persevere and we are now hosted on a server box that costs well over $300 a month. Through hard work from myself, the server staff, and all the members of the community, we have been able to evolve into a mature community that is constantly growing and expanding daily. We are nowhere near done growing, and we still need your help in order to take MyriadCraft to the next level. Through voting, posting in the whitelist, and donating, you can help our server immensely in the aspect of server growth and upgrades. Expect several plugin updates in the next couple days and an increase in the amount of staff.

No More Whitelist! - Greylist Enabled

Hello everyone!

Small announcement tonight. In an effort to increase the playerbase on this server and allow an easier transition for players coming from the voting sites, Damien and I disabled the whitelist tonight. Instead of the whitelist, now new players will be Guests and will get the promotion to Member once they complete the spawn maze. In essence we now have our own variation of a greylist enabled.

Hello MyriadCraft,

This is another post that we will be starting to have on a monthly basis that highlights the top users on the server in regards to playtime and voting. Firstly I would like to thank all those who have been being both active in-game and voting as this helps the server immensely through both facets. However I would urge users to continue to vote daily on ALL 5 sites as this truly is one of our best avenues for player recruitment and is a necessity if we wish for our server to grow. The rewards are as follows: 500 sol and an array of diamonds for the top voters and 250 sol for the users with top playtime. Unfortunately we had several users attempted to swindled the playtime counter and thus their playtime for this month was discredited. Sitting AFK for a relatively short period of time is ok just don't use things such as macro's to keep yourself appearing as non-AFK. Regardless the reward for this category will increase in the coming months as well as other perks involved let us know your opinion on these rewards and how you wish for us to tinker them.

As well as wklock stated in his November Recap last month was for the most part a good one however we fell short in the category of donations. November Recap

Hey guys,

The staff at Myriadcraft just wanted to give you all an update as to how this month went.

We can say this month was largely successful, we got the PvP world set up and, besides a couple of kinks, everything went well. We look forward to watching this new dimension of Myriadcraft develop and change overtime. It's a dynamic new change to the gameplay on Myriad.

We have also been making great progress on the event world. Mods and Guides have been working practically nonstop to build new events on Myriadcraft for everyone's enjoyment. We aren't exactly sure when we will be finished working as there are a lot of different things to build but we promise that the end result is going to be epic.

Additionally, we got the Enjin plugin set up for voting and online players. This has allowed for easier rewards for voting and with the planned changing in voting lists we are hoping to spread the Myriadcraft name across the world! In addition to voting, we have also secured the Myriadcraft facebook, youtube, and twitter so we will hopefully be able to secure some more new players to add to the Myriadcraft playerbase. We also went through many revisions within our website including updating forum tags and so forth.

With all this good news, we do have some bad news though. Donations were very low this month. Very, very low. We were hoping to break even but that did not happen. We have funds saved to help us through times like this. But remember to donate! And hopefully that will be easier because from now until the 25th of December we will be having a holiday sale for everyone, simply type "happyholidays" to recieve 15% off of any donation purchase!

PVP world!

As of last night, Myriadcraft's PvP world is officially open! It even had a fancy ribbon to cut :P.

Initially we had about 10-14 players entering the world, a lot of death ensued. The world is certainly the place to be if you wish to kill or be killed ;P.

All worlds will be reached from the main world's portal room, situated directly below spawn (under the sandstone pyramid). You can easily go there using /warp portal!

Griefing is allowed, lockette is not.
All PvP is allowed, except in the spawn
Excessive profanity is not allowed.
McMMO is enabled as it was requested by a lot of players.
The only way to get out of the world is to go back to the main spawn pyramid. Be careful with how far you wonder off.

Multiverse progression!

We have been working steadily on both the events and the PVP world over the past week. While we have moved past our original expected time of completion, the extra time waiting will be well worth it ;).

The PvP world, as of tonight, has been completed. The spawn, with admin shop for starter gear, is ready. The world is a regular 500x500 map, with only a few limitations which have yet to be implemented; no enderchests, no lockette and no enchanting. Here's a sneak peek of the spawn!

The Event world has been moved back in terms of completion. We are now actively brainstorming and building arenas and minigames. Guides are being given the means to build their good ideas, and the rest of the Myriad community can suggest ideas and arenas here.

Alongside the work on multiverse, we have also been updating plugins for improved stability and finishing some long overdue protecting of the warps and roads.

Stay tuned for more news - after the new worlds are done, there will be a revamp of trade town ;). Myriad or die!

Now Running 1.4.4!

We are now running minecraft 1.4.4 with bukkit. Before updating for several hours we took the liberty to test out 1.4.4 on our test server before bring it live on the main server. Through this process we were able to squash any bugs that may have been present however as always if you encounter and bugs when playing on the server please post them here. The update itself was a forcible one by Mojang and thus 1.4.2 is not compatible with it. Enclosed in the update itself is mainly bug fixes in fact over 120 bugs were fixed by the Mojang team in this update alone and praise should of course be given to them. Not only does this update fix bugs in minecraft in general but also should once again improve performance for the server.

We are continuing to work hard to make Myriad the best server that it can possibly be. We are almost finished with our multiverse update and before this weekend we should have both our PvP and Event worlds open to the public! Regarding voting and playtime we have continued to log this for this month and the top players in each respective category or even in both will be royally rewarded at the end of this month with unique rewards. Like always the best way to show us that you care about all the hard work we put into the server and support us in general is to donate. This allows us much more freedom with player recruitment and server upgrades and gives us one less thing to worry about each month.

Voting Overhaul + Characters

After working for several hours on implementing this new voting script I have finally done enough testing to bring it live to the server and the player-base. Simply put this new voting script allows us to establish a connection with the voting sites themselves and track player votes through the script with them then being displayed on our website. This is not only beneficial to the server because it allows us to reward those who vote the most but it also allows us to log votes and see who is actually voting daily. It also groups voting by day, week, month and so forth which will increase competitiveness and add an emphasis to voting. In order to achieve any reward at all you must vote on ALL of the three current sites for that day. All of the sites now work. There are also now two locations in which you can vote either through the module on the front page of the site or the vote page specifically which increases both the ease and accessibility for voting. When you click on each Vote button it will open the respective voting sites in a new tab and they can be voted upon. In order for the connection between the voting site, website, and server to be established when voting you must be sure to enter your in-game name (case sensitive) and fill out the CAPTCHA's correctly. After you have completed voting on all three sites you should see a spiny graphic of sorts which shows that your vote is being process. Reload the page and you should see green check-marks in place of the vote buttons. This is a confirmation that you have voted. Now comes the truly important part to obtaining rewards you must be signed into your forum account AND be in-game. Once all the votes are processed within two minutes you should receive a conformation that is broadcast to the entire server. And the three diamonds as a reward of voting. More sites will be added later however at the moment we wanted to focus on these. Please note that you can vote once per day on each site and the checkmarks and voting procedure will reset daily and should be repeated then.

I also want to take the time in this post to highlight and suggest the use of the character system present through Enjin. Basically this feature allows you to sync your minecraft account with your Enjin account which holds several different benefits that increase your forum functionality and enjoyment when playing on Myriad. You can sync your account which not only allows you to have a cool forum avatar and logo but also be viewed as online from the site itself. Another Update - Stability

Today we progressed with more updates for the server and added a few things that will once again enhance gameplay. Firstly, we finally updated a 1.4.2 BETA build which fixes several 1.4 specific bugs (such as renaming with anvils) and allows for most server stability as a whole. We also added several new plugins including a few old favorites and fixed others. We re-added the auction plugin to the server after a long hiatus. This is a lot less bulky than the old auction plugin and has more cooldowns and other measures in place to reduce the amount of spam present. (Use /auction for a full command guide) Although there is a long cooldown we want auction to be used as a tool that is used sparingly and exclusively by players not as a toy used to ship items to a friend for free. There will be locations set up in the new trade town to handle this. We also added the disguise plugin which is something our upper level donators can tap into. Enjoy! Citizens our NPC plugin was fixed so expect to see some more of your favorite characters roaming around spawn and we also fixed XP drops so that you now receive some from mining and other pursuits.

We have multiverse fully function and we will be implementing this by the end of the week. As well we will be handing out our rewards for most active player rewards within the week. We have continued to grow over the past couple of weeks and had a peak of 25 players or so on this weekend showing that we are moving in the right direction. We can use all the help we can get and the community can help us through several methods mainly by supporting the whitelist thread, voting, and donating! These simple gestures show us that you appreciate our hard work and that you genuinely care about the server. Every little bit of support is greatly appreciated.

Hello everybody,

Tonight we updated to a development build of 1.4.2

This is a big step but because Myriad is running a development build we should all be wary of glitches. If any glitches are found please report them to a mod, Damien, or myself and also to the bukkit team. The more bugs we can find and report the faster a stable build will get released. That being said, we have tested the development on the test server and I have made sure the essential plugins work (Essentials, Lockette, Towny, GroupManager, and ChestShop). The only significant bug at this point is that no new shops can be created but old shops still work.

We are working hard to make Myriad the best server it can be. Like always, the best support you can show is donating. We can't have Myriad without a box and the box costs money. And as always, keep on playing people, playtime rewards are coming soon!

When Will MyriadCraft Update to 1.4?

I bet you are wondering the same question posed in the title of this tread. Simply put MyriadCraft will update as soon as bukkit releases a relatively stable build of the minecraft server jar. We will not be waiting for a recommend build as that will take to long, the developmental builds should be ready in a time period of a few hours to a day. It truly depends on how fast the bukkit staff can update as some of their code was thrown off during the time period in which Mojang released numerous snapshots before 1.4 was actually released. We ask for your patience during this ordeal as there is nothing we can do to speed up the process it is unfortunately a waiting game. Also one last thing as there has been confusion in this topic we are NOT resetting the map but we will still make sure that players have have access to all new 1.4 content.

However if you updated and wish to play on the server you can downgrade your client. Using this jar found at this link: http://assets.minecraft.net/1_3_2/minecraft.jar and replacing your 1.4 jar with this you can downgrade and once again play on Myriad for the time. This is a simple process and will take you less than five minutes!

Once again please continue to support the server and its growth. You can do this by numerous means including: voting for the server, donating to the server, posting in the whitelist thread, and applying to be a part of the server staff.

Spawn Construction + 1.4 Update

Over the past few days or so the staff and I have been working diligently on the construction of the new spawn. This design which is attempting to have an islandy open feel yet remain accessible to everything is over 200x200 blocks and in the centralized location of (0,0). This project should be completed within the following week however before we finish we want to get community input into what they want in the spawn. If you have constructive ideas feel free to post those in this thread or PM me them. They will be reviewed closely and all ideas possible will be incorporated. We are also holding a server road design contest to see who can build the best possible server road that will be used throughout the map. The citizens plugin has finally been re-enabled on the server so feel free to check out the few NPC's (including Notch) that we have residing at the spawn. The Multiverse plugin along with weekly events will began to run shortly following the 1.4 update.

In this post I will also attempt to make an appeal to the community for donations. These past few months although we are growing have been tough financially for MyriadCraft and instead of being able to spend money on useful things such as advertising and voting sites we have been bogged down in bills that will continue to drain the majority of our funding unless action is taken. Simply put if only thirty users within our large community contribute ten dollars we would be more than able to meet our financial contributions for the month and have a small amount left over for possibly advertising. Not only am I asking you to donate because it helps the server but because you will be rewarded in sol and items. As well new donators perks are being added daily in order to entice donations so I recommend checking that page daily. Finally donations are greatly correlated in terms of applications. Donating shows us that you not only care about the server and talk about it but that you back your words up with actions and invest in something you believe in. This will score you brownie points to an extent and can be a deciding factor on the decision whether or not to accept your application.

To warp up this posting I wanted to discuss the upcoming 1.4 update with the community. This update is small in nature and thus will not require a map reset or anything of that manner. As always we must wait for bukkit to update to a recommended and/or stable build before we update our server. Although we always hope for a speedy update we ask you to NOT update your clients until we give you the go ahead on the forums as downgrading is a tricky and time consuming process that can simply be avoided by pressing no.

Please continue to be active both in-game and on the forums as well as support the server by posting in our whitelist thread and voting as those two are our most effective avenues for player recruitment at the moment.

More Updates - Consolidation + Donator Perks

Over the past few days or so you have probably been noticing the string of updates that have been occurring. Well today was no different and we focused on consolidation and donator perks in today's update. Wklock and myself were able to consolidate firstly several plugins such as blockhat and a secret moderator plugin into essentials which will further decrease server load. We also got a few pretty cool features running again on the server including virtual chest and virtual workbench. These perks are exclusively donator perks and in order to promote further donations and show our current donators some love we finally were able to get these running again. They are quite useful in many different situations and if you want access to them I would highly suggest donating. Not only for these perks but also because it helps the server out to the utmost extent and allows us more avenues for advertising and server growth. We will be adding more donator perks and prividleges in the coming weeks to futher entice and support donations so stay tuned and get pumped.

Public warps have been fixed, they were broken because had to switch plugins in order to get private warps to work again. Private warps themselves should be fully functional by the end of this week. At the moment we are testing them on the test server and want to make they are 100% before we implement them on main.

Server Infrastructure Update

Continuing our recent work on the server, i bring news and a request on input from the community. While our plugins and permissions have been and are being worked on, it is time to start planning and building myriadcraft's infrastructure.

The spawn we have is quite small and generic. It is the first thing any player sees, serving as the first impression. It is time we build a new, larger one to properly represent the server!

Our new spawn should be as large as in the previous maps; around 100x100. The design will be made to fit with the oceanic environment. It may be an artificial island, it may be a natural island selected from a seed and worledited over, or even a complete artificial structure. Here is a list of base features it should have:

-Spawn tower, offering a good view of the surroundings, possibly down onto the spawn itself too.
-Admin shop, easily accessible
-Public portals
-a village for npc trading, allowing everyone easy access to this game feature
-full connections to the server roads
-a placeholder for the future server railroad entrance

Alongside the actual spawn, we will also be building on a new spawn maze with a tutorial, staff room and a donator hall. This area will test any new player on comprehension of the rules, allow players new to minecraft to get a good start and easily show/explain the staff and ranks.

There has previously been talk of a server railroad as well; this was voted on by all staff some time ago. The result is that it will be in the overworld, thus it will tie into spawn and connect towns.

Any comments, suggestions and other input are greatly appreciated. This server infrastructure serves the players, so let's make it fit our community as best we can.
